Statement following the David Fuller Inquiry

Wealden Funeral Services supports the recent Fuller Inquiry statement suggesting that all funeral directors should be registered and regulated to ensure a higher standard of service. This can only benefit clients and companies that take their responsibility seriously.

Since our formation 20 years ago, we have been members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), which regularly visits and checks the standards we are expected to follow. These standards are highly likely to form the basis of government regulation, and we are pleased to have passed every inspection to date without even a minor issue.

Further, the Ministry of Justice recently charged the Environmental Health Department with performing a specific inspection of funeral directors’ practices and reporting back with their findings. Wealden Funeral Services received zero negative comments across all our branches.
